Within our core Yorkshire coverage we target a four hour response to emergency call-outs during working hours. Ring us and we will confirm a realistic attendance time before you commit to anything. Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield are our quickest areas because we work out of Burley Road in Leeds.
We cover West, North, East and South Yorkshire, plus Greater Manchester and East Lancashire. Sheffield, York, Hull and Doncaster are covered daily on planned and reactive work. Sites further out are usually covered on a planned basis rather than same day.
We quote the job before we start, so you know the full cost up front. Nothing is added afterwards. Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
No. We are a commercial specialist. Our work is on shops, offices, schools, healthcare premises, industrial units and managed residential blocks, rather than individual houses.
The door type and the brand printed on the operator or closer. Roughly how old it is, what it is doing wrong, and whether the premises are currently secure. A photograph sent to info@doorrepairsuk.co.uk or by WhatsApp often saves a survey visit.
Yes. Early, late and weekend visits can be arranged so that noisy or disruptive work happens while your premises are closed.
Yes, all makes, regardless of the original installer. Every service visit includes a BS EN 16005 safety checklist and a written report.
At least once a year for a commercial entrance in public use, and more often on high traffic sites such as supermarkets and hospitals. BS EN 16005 recommends regular servicing by a competent engineer, and a documented service history is useful evidence if an incident is ever investigated.
Common practice in commercial buildings is at least every six months, and more frequently in high traffic premises such as schools, hospitals and blocks of flats. Your fire risk assessment should set the interval for your building.
Many faults are repairable, including worn seals, failed closers, incorrect hinges and minor damage to the leaf. Deep damage to the leaf core, a distorted frame or unapproved holes cut through the door usually mean the doorset should be replaced. We will tell you which applies after inspecting it.
Only with an approved device such as an electromagnetic hold-open linked to the fire alarm, so the door releases and closes automatically on activation. Wedges, hooks and door stops are not acceptable.
Usually yes. A dropped door is normally a worn bottom pivot, a failed floor spring or a loose top centre, all of which are replaceable. The frame itself rarely needs replacing.
Most reactive repairs are finished in a single visit, because our engineers carry closers, floor springs, cylinders, hook locks, seals and sensors as van stock. Bespoke doorsets and obsolete operator parts have to be ordered in, which adds lead time.
All our engineers are fully DBS checked, which matters on school, healthcare and care home sites. We are CHAS approved and members of both the Automatic Door Installation Association and the Automatic Door Suppliers Association. Our engineers hold FireQual approved certificates for the inspection and maintenance of internal fire doors.
Yes. We look after customers with several branches and can put every site on the same planned maintenance schedule under one arrangement.
